Event: Advanced course in Dietary Assessment (ACDAM), Aberdeen

The University of Aberdeen is organising a course in advanced dietary assessment (ACDAM), from 14-16 May 2013 at the Jurys Inn in Aberdeen, Scotland. The theme is from theory to practice; topics will include; dietary assessment methods; food composition databases; interpreting and evaluating dietary data; advances in dietary assessment methods; and biomarkers of dietary intake.  It is designed for researchers, dietetic and nutritional practitioners and those wishing to further their training in this area.   The course has been endorsed for CPD by the British Dietetic Association and by the Association for Nutrition.

£1,050.00     Delegate rate including accommodation at Jurys Inn on 14 and 15 May 2013

£   850.00     Delegate rate excluding accommodation

Skills training workshop for health professionals in supporting individuals with visible differences or body image concerns

A two-day skills training workshop for Healthcare Professionals on the topic of ‘Supporting individuals with visible differences or body image concerns’ will be held on the 28th & 29th of June 2012 at Exeter University. The workshop is especially relevant to all clinicians interested in the psychosocial aspects of appearance, e.g. health, social, clinical and counselling psychologists, those working in medicine, surgery & nursing.

Health Behaviour Change two day course for health and social professionals

The Institute of Psychological Sciences at the University of Leeds is holding a two day course for health and social professionals on “Health Behaviour Change: An Evidence-Based Approach“, Monday 23 April and Monday 21 May, 2012 at the Institute of Psychological Sciences, University of Leeds. 

The course will allow attendees to work with leading experts to explore new ways of promoting healthy lifestyles in their patient/client group, to identify individual barriers to change and learn how to use behaviour change tools/techniques more effectively. This new, interactive, action learning based course will help professionals to deliver brief and effective behaviour change interventions (meeting level 1, 2, and 3 competencies the Yorkshire and Humber Prevention and Lifestyle Behaviour Change Competence Framework).
