The University of Exeter Medical School is advertising a number of 3-year funded PhD studentships to begin in Autumn 2013. Successful applicants will pursue a project within one of the principal research themes of the Medical School – a) Diabetes, Cardiovascular and Ageing; b) Neuroscience; c) Environment and Human Health or d) Health Research. Potential supervisory teams have developed project summaries and these will be available to candidates from Monday 24th June. Candidates are invited to discuss project areas informally with potential supervisors and to indicate in their application which of the theme areas (and within these, which projects) are of most interest. The Centre for Health and Behaviour Change at the University of Stirling is seeking to appoint an outstanding research psychologist within the School of Natural Sciences to enhance the School’s national and international profile. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out internationally excellent research and high quality teaching as well as contributing to administration and development activities.
Consideration will also be given to applicants who provide evidence of potential for strong collaboration with other areas of expertise at Stirling, both within the School of Natural Sciences and beyond, for example in the areas of Sport, Nursing, Behavioural Economics, Ageing and Dementia.

A post is available for an enthusiastic researcher who wishes to join a large team of health researchers investigating how to promote uptake of anti-viral medication and vaccination for pandemic flu. The project involves two large qualitative studies and an online survey, supervised by Professor Susan Michie and Professor Lucy Yardley. This is one of two
closely linked posts; this post will be based at University College London and the other at the University of Southampton.
The UCL post- holder will become a member of the Health Psychology Research Group and the British Psychological Society’s Centre for Outcomes Research and Effectiveness at UCL.
Salary: £32,375 per annum (inclusive)
Duration: The post is funded for 18 months

The Health Services Research Institute at the University of Exeter Medical School is advertising a post for a Research Fellow. The post is based in Exeter and funded as part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) School for Public Health Research (SPHR) to conduct research on the design and evaluation of interventions to change health-related behaviours.
