We welcome the submission of abstracts for presentations, structured discussions and workshops.  The call for abstracts is now open (see below).

Abstract submission instructions

This year’s featured theme is “Advancing Science and Knowledge Translation” although submissions on a wide range of topics are invited. All submissions must use the relevant abstract form (see below).

Please download the 2010 abstract submission form and guidelines.

For illustrative purposes, previous years’ themes for grouped presentations have included:

  • Smoking cessation
  • Beliefs, perceptions and treatments
  • The management of chronic illness
  • Changing the practice of health professionals
  • Physical activity
  • Theory and measurement
  • Predictors of behaviour and illness

Abstracts should be submitted by e-mail, using the submission form provided, to the conference organising committee by Friday 20th August 2010.

The author/presenter making the submission must provide the names and affiliations of all co-authors/co-presenters for each submission.

Authors who are submitting a paper presentation may also have their paper considered for a poster session if it is not accepted. Please check the appropriate box on the submission form.

Authors can make submissions to be considered only for the poster session. Please check the appropriate box on the submission form.

Presenters of posters will be expected to attend their scheduled poster session.

If you submit an abstract for a workshop, paper or a poster, you should do so with the understanding that you plan to attend UKSBM Annual Scientific Meeting 2010.

Authors/presenters will be notified of the committee’s decision by the end of Week Commencing 11th October 2010.

Participants are expected to cover their own registration, travel and accommodation costs.

Publication of abstracts

Abstracts selected for presentation will be published in a book of abstracts which will be distributed to all participants at the meeting.  Abstracts will be withdrawn if there is no accompanying registration.

We will publish presentations on the web (subject to feasibility).
