Opportunity to participate in Delphi study

We are pleased to invite you to participate in a research Delphi study designed to identify and prioritise key methodological uncertainties in the design, conduct, and analysis of future clinical trials aimed at improving health outcomes for people with Multiple Long-Term Conditions (MLTCs).

This study is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB). It is led by Professor Laura Gray, Professor of Medical Statistics at the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology, University of Leicester.

Clinical trials targeting individuals with MLTCs face significant methodological challenges due to patient heterogeneity, variation in condition selection, and limitations in trial conduct, design and analysis. These challenges may partly explain the current lack of robust evidence to guide effective interventions for this population. In response to national and global priorities, our goal is to prioritise the methodological research questions that need to be addressed to improve the quality and impact of future trials.

About the Study
This is a four-round modified Delphi study involving a diverse group of participants including methodologists, trialists, MLTC researchers, research funders, commissioners, regulators, and people with lived experience or carers of those with MLTCs. Participation involves contributing to one or more rounds, no special preparation is needed.

Round 2
We are currently recruiting participants for Round 2. In this round, you will be presented with a list of research uncertainties identified by participants in Round 1 and you will be asked to rate each one using a 9-point Likert scale regarding the important of the research uncertaintyitem. This will be conducted via an online platform.

Additional Information
Study documents, including the Participant Information Sheet, privacy notice, and a summary of existing MLTC trials, are available.

Please follow the links to access each document [Participant Information Sheetprivacy notice, and summary of existing MLTC trials].
