Survey: the health of behavioural medicine and the social sciences in UK universities
The Academy of Social Sciences is monitoring the health of the social sciences across UK higher education, and has asked UKSBM, as a member society, for its informed insight. We want that to reflect what members are seeing on the ground.
We are asking members about recent changes in their own institution and discipline area: course or programme closures, departmental closures and mergers, changes in permanent staffing, the effect on early career researchers and research students, and changing student numbers. Responses are gathered as informed community insight rather than systematically collected data, and UKSBM will present them to the Academy on that basis.
The survey takes about ten minutes and most questions are optional. Please respond by Friday 24 July 2026.
