Climate Change Special Interest Group (CC-SIG)
Focus and purpose
To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, knowledge, information and best practice for those interested in the application of behavioural medicine to:
1) Reduce the negative impact of health-related consumer behaviours on climate change
2) Encourage and facilitate the adoption of sustainable consumption behaviours (e.g. plant-rich diets, active transport)
3) Strengthen understanding of the link between planetary and human health for a sustainable, equitable and resilient future
By bringing together interdisciplinary researchers, industry professionals, policymakers and stakeholders to facilitate the exchange of information on how best to mitigate the negative environmental impacts of individual and group behaviours. The CC-SIG aims to enhance networks and collaborations to help tackle the climate crisis via individual-level, population-level and multi-level interventions, and systems-level thinking.
